Covid-19/Lockdown

Publicerad 2020-04-25 10:25:48 i Allmänt,

Okay, so I have a lot of friends in other countries, and I completely get that they are getting bored with this, they're anxious to get back to normality. So a lot of people is starting to pick on their government. They start to tear each other down and complain about whatever they can. I get your frustration.

But stay home, you don't have a choice but to follow the governments order. And you can stop this from spreading, the government cares about your life, so much that people even get paid to stay home basically(well its because they're not getting any money work I believe).

I wish I didn't have a choice but to stay home. If I want money, I have to got to my work. And I am terrified to do it, I'm so scared of getting ill from this. Maybe I have already we don't know, maybe I did, but I'll still get it again. I'm even more scared to contaminate my boyfriend, who also has to go to work. We both work in stores, and that can't be done from home unfortunately.

I know how frustrating it must be, I can only imagine what it does to your mind - to feel locked up. You've probably already done some of it but here's some ideas of what to do.
  • Read that old book that you never had the time to before
  • Repaint the rooms
  • Work work in the garden
  • By nice food when/if you can, so that at least you have tasty food. And you could learn some new recipes
  • Try a new hobbie
  • Play boardgames with your family/partner
  • Do a puzzle
  • Do a puzzle with your family/partner
  • Clean as clean as it can get, all the cupboards, all the drawers, clean out and look through all the closets and the attic. Scrub the floor and wipe of the doors.
  • Write a book
  • Paint a painting
  • Draw/sketch
  • Learn to play an instrument
  • Play video games
  • When you do go out once a day, make sure you go really far, maybe explore something new. Take pictures, maybe it can a new canvas on the wall, or refrigerator magnets, a cup or a collage of a subject of your choice. Buildings, closeups, nature, water, sky it can be anything, and it can be terrible, but it can also be really fun and challenging.
  • Challenge your partner/sibling/parents to something: Who can name the most countries in Europe, States in America, capitals in Asia, counties in England, animals from Africa, animals in the water. You both or all need paper and pen and a timer. You get 3 minutes.
  • Do something nice for the other one in your house. Or call someone you haven't called in ages, say something nice make sure to keep it happy, to help them get through the same thing you're getting through.
  • Learn a new language, use the app Duolingo, try Swedish 🤣 or Scottish Gaelic!
  • Don't use your phone during one whole day. If it's hard for you knowing people can't contact you, then let them know that you're doing it. If it's really important they can call your partner, parents, sibling.

I have plenty of ideas that you can do when you're home. And all I'm saying is, I wish I had the choice to stay home. I wish I didn't have to go and risk my life at a job I don't even like. I wish our government cared about us, they don't. I believe they care more about the economy and that "we were right to do this, look at us, we are Sweden, they hate us now for what we're doing. But even though we have 2000 deaths we're going prove the media in other countries wrong".
No one has said those words exactly. But that's basically what I hear when they open their mouth.

So next time you think that "oh Sweden is so good, they're so chill I wish I lived there right now". Remember that the government doesn't care about us and is glad to sacrifice lives.
Some of us is just waiting for things to get even worse.

Sorry if my grammar is incorrect here and there, same with spelling. But as you know, English is not my first language.

Over and out
Xoxo
